It's a little chilly for October...

This was the view outside my window yesterday morning:

Need I remind you it's only the end of October? It seems that Denver has missed Fall altogether.

However, I was not disappointed to walk around campus (oh no--is my U.Va. lingo disappearing??) when it looked like this:

Despite all of this, I think my car may be missing Charlottesville...

These are good friends

As most of you know, I've never been one for caffeinated beverages with the exception of my daily cup of tea. However, with the fall season comes the reappearance of the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks.

Pumpkin Spice Latte
Pro: helps me get through reading about theory
Con: gateway drug for the Salted Caramel Latte

Salted Caramel Latte
Pro: discovering an obsession in the mix of sweet caramel along with the salty topping
Con: the salty topping is crack.

Ask any of my study friends--I dream of the salt topping and have been googling where I can buy this. (I'm convinced that they only sell this on the black market.) Whenever I order this new favorite at Sbucks I ask for extra servings by the pound sprinkles of topping and I become a happy girl.

Upon meeting my friend/study buddy/work husband/secret lover Patrick at Starbucks tonight for our regular reading sesh, he surprised me with the following:

My very own container of the Starbucks sea salt topping! I squealed with joy just as the happy Starbucks baristas looked on. Patrick simply asked if there was anywhere you could purchase this salt without having to sell your kidney and they said, "We'll see what we can do for you." And as he got his Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino, they slid the salt package along with his drink like a stealthy drug deal.

Today is a good day. Thanks Patrick!
